Little Qualicum River Estuary

Canada Geese swimming near the estuary in Qualicum Beach

Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada, has some amazing beaches. I like to go there at low tide when you can often see eagles and herons perched in trees or sitting on the beach, waiting to unveil some tasty seafood snacks.

On this day a flock of Canada geese floated along the Little Qualicum River estuary and out to the open ocean, swimming along the shore, right past a watching eagle who didn’t bother them after they honked a few warnings. On a beautiful sunny day, with the lush forest along the shore and the distant snow-capped mountains, it was a vision of perfection. British Columbia has such incredible beauty, with abundant wildlife and scenes such as the one pictured above…it’s no wonder they call it Beautiful British Columbia.
