My parents’ back yard in Ontario, Canada, was always busy with wildlife. They had a regular rabbit visitor for quite awhile and there were always lots of chipmunks scurrying around…not to mention squirrels galore and a never-ending variety of birds visiting the bird bath and feeders.
I liked to put a little bird seed on the back deck occasionally, trying to tempt a chipmunk for a photo shoot. It was a great surprise when this rabbit came out of nowhere and hopped up to join the chipmunk that was busy hoovering up seeds. The pair of them calmly shared a meal then went their separate ways. It was a touching moment that I was able to memorialize with this image.
